People and Society

At Consilimo, we aim to offer products that are produced responsibly. For us, this means having a value chain that safeguards human and labor rights, protects the environment, and is free from corruption. A key component of ensuring accountability is our framework for conducting due diligence assessments.

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dalema, Consilimo adheres to the overarching guidelines for due diligence in purchasing and producing private-label products established by the Dalema Group. This framework is based on the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP) and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.

Our Approach

Today, larger companies are required to assess, prevent, and address violations of human and labor rights arising from their operations, suppliers, and other business relationships. The process of identifying this negative impact and prioritizing actions based on severity and capacity to influence is known as due diligence.

Our due diligence efforts are anchored within our management team and procurement department, with clear responsibilities outlined. We have developed clear guidelines for how Consilimo conducts responsible business practices. Our Supplier Code of Conduct, which forms part of our supplier agreements, sets strict expectations for supplier behavior. Additionally, we have established procedures for assessing and approving suppliers. These measures help us mitigate risks and ensure collaboration with suppliers that meet our standards.

We use a supplier management platform that provides a comprehensive and risk-classified overview of our supply chain. This allows us to focus efforts where risks are highest and implement measures tailored to the specific challenges we face in each case. Data is gathered from sources such as supplier responses to our questionnaires, audit reports from our subsidiary Opal, insights from third-party audits (e.g., amfori BSCI), and recognized risk indices. Our supplier management platform is also accessible to our suppliers, enabling them to gain insights and work on improvements in their operations.

Victims of adverse impacts within our value chain are entitled to restitution, and we are committed to rectifying harm where relevant. This does not always mean Consilimo will provide restitution directly, but we ensure that those responsible for harm in our value chain take responsibility and provide appropriate remedies.
